PL Porter, Crane Aerospace (Burbank, CA) NYSE: CR $2.5 billion
Diversified manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products with a substantial presence in a number of focused
niche markets, such as braking, fuel, and cabin systems with 11,000 employees.
• A400M brake system validation. Additional aircraft programs, valued at average of $7 million. Programs are rapid,
typically to 3 to 6 months from requirements analysis, in-house requirements and specification in addition to subsequent
systems design, verification through modeling, analysis, testing, qualification and support. Involved with over 60 airline
programs including: 25 Air France, 31 Korean air, 4 KLM airlines, QANTAS, involving over 160 separate systems on
hundreds of jumbo-jetliner aircraft: PDR/CDR/FAI -DPD-support.
• As Senior Project Engineer and certification engineer on programs. I was responsible for all technical aspects of program
planning, compliance, conformity, documentation, qualification, and tracking of systems including aircraft for Boeing
B747, B777, B787, and Airbus A320, A330, and A380 aircraft systems. Crane cabin divisional authority for design,
testing, and reduction of Radio Frequency Electro-magnetic interference (EMI). My positive reputation resulted from
timely, successfully qualifying each and every program assigned. I was the first to draft and formalize the new B787
(EWIS) document working with Boeing on this document process for submission, now a needed submission and
process for all B787-9 aircraft.
• Perform root cause analysis of complex issues expeditiously determined corrective action of onsite and worldwide issues
such as when a production line stoppage of a large integrator of our product was brought to a halt. The V.P. sent just me
to handle the problem. By noon the problem was analyzed and solved. All 12 systems held for issues were ready to be
boxed and the entire ship-set of 50 could be shipped for aircraft installation. Since my involvement there has been an
enormous reduction in the number of issues seen each year.
• Introduced and released 3 successful product lines within iMotion™ and mcX™ Canbus based control systems family of
products representing sales of over $170 million. Defined engineering’s role and budgetary requirements for
development and support of iMotion™ and mcX™ control
management (EVM).

• Crane had tried for 10 years to reduce actuator sound levels by 3 Decibels (DBs). I Singularly developed a patentable
new line of quiet actuators, which reduced sound level by over 10 DBs in less than one month. Now these quite
actuators have sales of $15+ million / per year.
• Tiger team leader: A tiger team is a group of experts assigned to investigate and/or solve technical or systemic problems.
Providing liaison between customers, and subcontractors and supply chain sources. Ex1: Rapidly resolved every issue
tasked, such as a fleet of aircraft having random cabin operational problems. The short answer was that all the aircraft
had power systems that were wired wrong. Solved it within an hour of the first reports. Ex2: Intermittent fleet
operational errors were occurring in Eastern Europe. Mapped the fleet wide failures to understand and then resolved the
issues. Ex3: Random non-repeatable intermittent operation failures: examined extensive event logs and failure reports
to determine a focus on software. I then discovered a firmware bug impacting the boot up chips initiation and scaling of

familiar with and working knowledge using software packages such as Doors, Teamtrack, Sharepoint, CONOPs,
methodologies, and more.
• Developed coordinated structural mythologies and processes to guide engineering developmental activities.
• Lean, Kaizen events example: improved first pass production yield. Accomplished an improvement from 86% to 98%
passing the Acceptance Test procedure of the Imotion™ line upon first test, saving > $4 million dollars /per year. MRS
